Where are the SWISSCOWERS® cheese products produced?
In sunny Toggenburg in eastern Switzerland. There, the various cheese products are made by hand with great dedication in a traditional family business.
Do all the raw materials come from Switzerland?
Over 99% of all raw materials come from Switzerland. Exceptions are raw materials that are not produced here, such as the nori seaweed leaves used on bars or the various oils in the Training Crunchies.
How does SWISSCOWERS® guarantee the highest possible quality?
Our cheese products are produced in a BRC-certified facilty. Which means that the production meets the high quality human consumption requirements for food production and is strictly controlled. This certification must be renewed every year and regular audits are carried out to ensure that the high food standards are maintained.
What distinguishes our cheese products from others?
There are many things that distinguish our cheese products from others. In addition to the variety of our range, the most important point is the origin. We source our milk from regional farms where the cows are kept in small herds of 26 animals on average, which enables traditional grazing. Switzerland's animal welfare legislation is among the strictest in the world, setting new standards that benefit animal welfare.
How much milk do SWISSCOWERS® cheese products contain?
A lot! A large cheese bar with 80-90g or the Cheese Crunchies contain more than 2 liters of regional Swiss milk(!), but also a loads of valuable protein and calcium. The special consistency guarantees long-lasting chewing pleasure or the crunchy effect and ensures strong teeth and bones.
What is the origin of the meat in the cheese bars with beef/bacon?
From Switzerland, 100%! As for the cheese bars itself, where we only use Swiss milk for cheese production, we use pure Swiss muscle meat or Swiss pork bacon for our creation "Cheese bars with beef / bacon".
Where are the seaweed used on bars with nori seaweed leaves sourced?
Unfortunately, nori seaweed leaves are not available from Swiss production - what a shame! That's why we source our algae leaves in certified food quality directly from Asia.
Why do individual cheesebars have a textured surface rather than a smooth one?
The cream cheese is separated from the whey by means of a cheese sheet and pressed directly into the mould along with the sheet. This cheese sheet has a net structure which is transferred to the Cheese Bars when the residual whey is pressed out.
On my SWISSCOWERS® bars I can see white dots, what are they?
After cutting, the cheese products are briefly immersed in a salt bath. During the subsequent ripening process, proteins, salt and fat can accumulate and appear as white spots on the surface of the cheese. These are part of the normal cheese ripening process and are completely harmless.
How should the cheese bars be fed?
Your dog should be at least 6 months old so that he can chew the Cheese Bar well. Older dogs should have their teeth in good condition. We recommend to feed the Cheese Bars only under supervision and to always provide enough drinking water.
How are the cheese chips and cheese crunchies made?
The cheese chips and cheese crunchies are made in the same way as the bars, where we cut the fresh bars into small pieces and use them to make the cheese chips and cheese crunchies.
How can I make my own crispy cheese crunchies?
There are 2 possibilities. The easiest way is with our cheese chips. These are already cut into the right size and only need to be in the microwave for 60-90 sec. Small leftover pieces of the cheese bars (2-3cm) can also be put in the microwave for 30-90 sec. Result: irresistibly crunchy cheese crunchies!
Will my dog eat /like SWISSCOWERS® products ?
Our products taste and smell of cheese and are therefore particularly popular. For those dogs where the cheese bars are too firm to chew, we have developed the Cheese Crunchies. So both young and old will find their personal favorite in our cheese range.
Are SWISSCOWERS® cheese products healthy?
Absolutely! Our products are rich in various nutrients. Since at least 2 liters of milk are used to make one bar, they are rich in protein, calcium and healthy fats. They also promote strong chewing muscles and support the intestines and their digestion thanks to the naturally contained lactobacilli and bifidobacteria.
Do the SWISSCOWERS® cheese products contain lactose?
